Rick Scanlon '93 is the cofounder and managing partner of Marker LLC, a venture capital firm founded in 2011 with offices in New York, N.Y., and Herzliya, Israel. Before Marker, Scanlon was a cofounder and managing partner of Crescent Point, a venture capital firm founded in 2003 and based in Singapore, where he lived from 1996 to 2011, with additional offices in China and the Middle East. He made his first investment as a venture capitalist in 2003 in AirAsia, a company that went on to disrupt the travel market in Asia and achieve success by making airline travel available to everyone in the region. Scanlon has been obsessed with disruptive business models, technologies, ideas, and people ever since. Prior to founding Crescent Point, he spent 10 years in the investment banking departments at Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse and was based in New York, Singapore, and Beijing. He lives in Locust Valley, New York.
