The Kohn All Weather Field is a 240' x 360' all-weather surface and provides teams the use of an outdoor facility during periods of unfavorable weather. The field is home to the field hockey team, women's lacrosse squad and the men's lacrosse team until Alumni Stadium is playable. The surface is also shared by several Middlebury teams, as well as for intramural activities. The surface is fully lined for men's and women's lacrosse, along with field hockey, football and soccer lines. The Astroturf XL system is the newest, most advanced synthetic turf, chosen more often than all its competitors combined. The surface has been used in such facilities as Giants Stadium in New Jersey.
Opened in the spring of 2000, the Kohn Field provides Middlebury a first class artificial surface. The field was named in honor of Peter Kohn, a friend of Middlebury College since he arrived on campus in 1980. Kohn is well known throughout the lacrosse world, having served as manager of the U.S. National Team several times at the World Games.
