The Recycling Center has diverted more than 55% of the waste consumed on campus since 1994. Students can go there to find "gems" such as textbooks, futons, or lamps, in good condition. The Center is partially powered by a wind turbine.
The Recycling Center was built in 2002, although its function had been carried out elsewhere on campus for years prior. In 2005, a wind turbine was installed as part of an initiative to reduce carbon emissions.
