Hancock, VT
United States

The College's Snow Bowl, the largest college-owned ski area in the country, is only 25 minutes from campus, in the Green Mountains. It is host to the ski teams' Winter Carnival competition, as well as the Feb Celebration for mid-year graduates. It is also the only ski lodge in the nation with a library, and has the oldest original ski lodge in the United States, the Hubbard Cabin, now used by the town's Ski Club.

History

The third oldest ski area in Vermont, the Snow Bowl was founded in 1934. The first overhead cable lift at any U.S. college was installed in 1954, and the Starr Shelter, built in 1962, was recently expanded in 2004.
