Live United. Give. Advocate. Volunteer.
Middlebury College is pleased to begin again its annual fall campaign for the United Way of Addision County. Middlebury has maintained a long-standing commitment as a United Way partner, mainly because it supports agencies that help meet the most critical needs in our area. One gift from you, combined with those from thousands of others, can make a very real difference. Our mutual efforts simply and effectively ensure that our many community services remain strong and healthy.
You might wonder why Middlebury College officially endorses the United Way as the only public fund raising effort it supports in this way. The reasons are simple:
- Founded as "the Town's College," Middlebury College has a long tradition of active involvement to meet community needs - through volunteer efforts by students, faculty, and staff, alike; innovative curricular pursuits that serve a public purpose, where possible; and this annual fund raising effort, aiding one out of every three residents in Addison County, and
- The United Way of Addison County allows participants to allocate a donation of $52 or more to any 501(c)3 not-for-profit(s) of their choice. A 6% processing fee will be applied to these gifts to cover the costs related to designations.
In short, giving through United Way provides the flexibility to honor individual preferences and, if desired, maximize one's giving potential through payroll deductions spread out over a calendar year.
Highlights thus far:
- Chris and Becky Dayton are serving as Campaign Chairs for the 2008 United Way of Addison County Campaign.
No matter how large or small the gift you provide, neighbors helping neighbors enhance the quality of life we enjoy and provide the strong foundation upon which our communities stand. Middlebury College is proud to be a part of this tradition.

Don and I enjoy being members of the Robert Frost Society because it is a way we can do our charitable giving together. We love being part of a group that cares deeply about our community. As the coordinator of PACT, I love being a partner with United Way because working together we can make a much greater difference than any of our small groups could do alone.
