MIDDLEBURY, Vt. — Middlebury College will host the New England Division Men’s Water Polo Championship at the Peterson Family Athletics Center on Saturday and Sunday, October 27-28.
Matches will begin on Saturday, October 27, at 10 a.m. with Boston College vs. the University of Massachusetts, followed by Williams vs. Wesleyan at 11:15 a.m. and Yale vs. Boston University at 12:30 p.m.
The Middlebury’s men’s water polo club will face Dartmouth College at 1:45 p.m.
On Sunday, October 28, semifinal matches will begin at 11:15 a.m. with the championship match-up scheduled to start at 2:15 p.m.
Spectators are welcome to attend, free of charge. Access to Middlebury’s pool (or “Natatorium”) may be gained by walking through the main (ice hockey) entrance to the Athletics Center, turning left just before the Panther sculpture, and following signs to the Natatorium mezzanine.
With a regular season record of 6-2, Middlebury is seeded third in the tournament behind Yale and Boston College. The winner of the New England Division Championship will earn an automatic bid to the national championship November 8-11 at the University of Arizona, Tucson. Head coach Brian Goodwin and assistant coach Tom McGinn coach the Middlebury club.
