President Ronald D. Liebowitz sent the following letter to the families of Middlebury students on March 24, 2008:
Dear Middlebury Parents,
The Board of Trustees has approved a comprehensive fee (room, board, tuition, and student activities fee) for the 2008-09 academic year of $49,210, which is an increase of 4.9 percent over last year’s fee.
This is an extraordinary investment for most families. And an investment, I believe, with enormous potential return. At Middlebury, we are committed to providing the educational opportunities that will best prepare our students for the increasingly interconnected and globalized world they will enter upon graduation.
I encourage you to remind your sons and daughters, as I do at every opportunity, to take advantage of all the College offers. Our mission, as articulated in our strategic plan, is to prepare Middlebury students to be the leaders of tomorrow. We are committed to providing the support, both financially and personally, to make this possible, and to assist our students to achieve success.
Thank you for your support in making these opportunities possible for your daughters and sons. I hope you will contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Ronald D. Liebowitz
