John  Ashbery, celebrated author of more than 20 books of poetry, reads in Bread Loaf Barn at 7:30 p.m.

RIPTON, Vt.—Celebrated American poet John Ashbery will read from his work at Middlebury College's Bread Loaf mountain campus in Ripton on Monday, July 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Bread Loaf Barn.

John Ashbery, the author of more than 20 books of poetry, has won nearly every major American award for poetry; in 1975 Self-Portrait in a Convex Mirror received the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry, the National Book Critics Circle Award, and the National Book Award.

His more recent publications include A Worldly Country (Ecco, 2007); Where Shall I Wander (2005); Chinese Whispers (2002); Your Name Here (2000); Girls on the Run: A Poem (1999); and Wakefulness (1998). Ashbery is the Charles P. Stevenson Jr. Professor of Languages and Literature at Bard College.
