The Sept. 26 edition of the Chronicle of Higher Education included an article titled "Sweet Carillon" about Middlebury College Carillonneur George Matthew Jr. as well as an essay by Professor of English Jay Parini--"Office Hours: a Professor's Education."
Middlebury College was mentioned numerous times in a Jan. 10 Chronicle of Higher Education article titled "Chair Men of the Board," which is about Beeken Parsons, a furniture maker in Shelburne. The story includes photos of the furniture that Beeken Parsons made for Ross Commons, and discusses the company's contract with the College to make additional furniture for the new library. It appears on the back cover of Section A under "Notes from Academe."
