Middlebury College is mentioned in the April 7 edition of The New Yorker in "The Critics" column. The story is titled "The Thin Envelope: Why college admissions has become unpredictable." On page 90, Middlebury is mentioned as tying with Bowdoin for seventh place in the most recent U.S. News and World Report rankings of liberal arts colleges. The College is mentioned again later in the same paragraph with regard to the rankings.
