On June 11, the Folha de Sao Paulo, Brazil's largest daily circulation (with half a million to a million readers) published an interview with Associate Professor of Political Science Jeff Cason on page A5.  Jeff, who was in Rio de Janeiro for a conference, reports that the article began (in Portugese; this is his translation): "The North American political scientist Jeffrey Cason, specialist on Brazil and director of international studies at Middlebury College, in the state of Vermont…"  According to Jeff, the article discusses his views on what Brazil would need to do with its publicly held debt (renegotiate some of it) so that it can increase investments in important economic sectors and in social programs to fulfill the current president's campaign promises.
