In the Dec. 9 edition of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, an article titled "Many big donors prefer anonymity" mentioned the $50 million gift given to Middlebury earlier this year.  According to the article, the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University in Bloomington tracks gifts of more than $1 million on a quarterly basis.  During this year's third quarter, the center found that the largest anonymous gift was the $50 million given to Middlebury.  The text is on the paper's Web site at http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/04344/424127.stm.
