The Nov. 17 issue of the Vermont Guardian included an article titled "Truth trumps fiction." The article covers a lecture that was organized by writer-in-residence Julia Alvarez and given by two legends of social activism from the Dominican Republic, Dedé Mirabal Reyes and Minou Tavárez Mirabal, who are relatives of  the Mirabal sisters murdered in 1960 for resisting the dictatorship of Rafael Trujillo.
