After the visit on Oct. 24 of Chief Justice of the United States John G. Roberts, Jr., and the announcement of the Justice William H. Rehnquist Professorship of American History and Culture, Middlebury College received media coverage in the Rutland Herald. Full text is available online

On Sept. 26, Middlebury College and the Rohatyn Center hosted a U.S. Congressional debate among Vermont's candidates, including Peter Welch, Martha Rainville, Jane Newton, Bruce Marshall, Dennis Morrisseau and Keith Stern. The debate was moderated by Chris Graff, a 1975 Middlebury College graduate. A print article ran in the Rutland Herald, and full text of the article is available on the newspaper's website.

Associate Professor of Political Science Kateri Carmola wrote an opinion piece titled "Contractors Working Beyond the Law" that was published in the Rutland Herald on June 7.  

On June 10 College Professor and President Emeritus John McCardell was quoted in the Rutland Herald in an article titled "Veteran honored among Burr and Burton grads" about Burr and Burton's graduation, where he delivered the commencement address.

The June 25 edition of the Herald's "Vermont Sunday Magazine" published a cover story titled "A Toast to Bread Loaf: Renowned camp for writers turns 80, becomes more studious and worldly." The article, which also appeared in the Times Argus, is on the paper's Web site.

On May 29 Middlebury College's commencement received coverage in the Rutland Herald. The text is available online.

In the March 18 edition of the Rutland Herald, an article titled "After the Storm: Middlebury students get eye-opening look at New Orleans" included a photo taken by Middlebury sophomore Josh Chan and a pull quote of Middlebury junior Sam Timberg.
