Middlebury is mentioned in the Aug. 21 issue of Time in the cover article, "Who Needs Harvard?" On page 38 there is a photo of  high school student Emma Robson with a caption that states, "The self-described foodie makes the cafeteria her first stop. Middlebury, says Robson, has a great split-pea soup made fresh from local ingredients. She will be applying to the Vermont school in the fall." The article is available online

The June 19 edition of Time magazine's Asia edition mentioned the Middlebury Chinese School in several articles on language learning that appeared together. Susan Jakes, Time's Beijing bureau chief, who attended the Chinese School, wrote an article titled "A Humbling Education," about her experience at Middlebury. The text of the article is on the magazine's Web site. Another article, "Language Barriers: Is it too late to try?", quotes Professor of Chinese John Berninghausen. The text is available online.  "Homework: How to get started learning Mandarin" recommends the Middlebury Chinese School and is available here.
