Michelle McCauley is an associate professor of psychology at Middlebury College.

Her research focuses on the role of children in the legal system and on improving child eyewitnesses' memory. She also studies adults' perceptions of child victims and witnesses and is developing a scale to assess individual differences in willingness to believe a child witness.

She has co-authored a number of articles, including "Are Jurors' Perceptions of Eyewitness Credibility Affected by the Cognitive Interview?" and "Enhancing Children's Eyewitness Testimony with the Cognitive Interview."
