Because of the generosity of Bread Loaf students, faculty, and friends, the School has steadily increased its financial aid resources. No interested applicant with strong credentials should fail to apply because of need.
The following information pertains to new and returning Bread Loaf students:
Students who wish to be considered for aid offered through Middlebury College must file a Bread Loaf Financial Aid Form with Student Financial Services. Students must complete a new form for each summer.
To read about financial aid and to download financial aid materials for summer 2008, visit Bread Loaf Financial Aid.
Requests for aid should be made when the application form is submitted to the School. Students are advised to return all completed materials as soon as possible. A financial aid decision can be made once an applicant is accepted to Bread Loaf.
Financial aid is available in the form of grants and loans. The aid is awarded on the basis of financial need and scholastic achievement on a first-come, first-served basis. On-campus student jobs are available in Vermont and New Mexico.
Special Fellowships
In addition to regular financial aid, Bread Loaf often offers special fellowships to students in certain states or cities. Such fellowships are made possible by grants Bread Loaf receives from foundations or from state departments of education and local school districts.
