Nana Tsikhelashvili, Associate Professor and Director of the School in Russia. PhD (Kandidat nauk) in History (History of Russian-American Relations), Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH), 1998. Ms. Tsikhelashvili joined the School in Russia in 1997. Her previous experience includes work with the Russian State Archives, Russian Television, the American Collegiate Consortium (USIA-supported exchange program administered through Middlebury College) in Moscow, and part-time teaching American History to Russian students at RSUH. Nana most recently served as the Assistant Director.

Simone Bonneville, Assistant Director. B.A. Skidmore College. As a Russian Area Studies major at Skidmore College, Ms. Bonneville spent the fall of 1997 in Yaroslavl with Middlebury's program. Following her graduation in 1999, she joined the Peace Corps and spent the next two years posted in Penza, Russia working as an English teacher. Ms. Bonneville joined the School in Russia as Resident Coordinator in Yaroslavl in 2001. As Assistant Director, she coordinates student orientation in Russia; visa procurement; internship placements; and a number of non-academic affairs, including financial and legal issues and contacts with Russian partner school administrations.


Karen Anderson, Resident Coordinator, Russian State University for the Humanities. B.A. University of Wisconsin, Russian Language/Literature and Violin performance. Karen's interest in all things artistic goes from playing the balalaika, to salsa dancing, to performing classical chamber music.  Most recently, she spent two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Turkmenistan, where she focused on English education and community development.

Megan Corrigan, Resident Coordinator, Yaroslavl State University. B.A. Macalester, Russian. M.A. Johns Hopkins.  This will be Megan's second year in Yaroslavl, and she has also worked in Moscow, Vladimir, Ryazan, Novosibirsk and St. Petersburg. Her most exciting random Russian experience to date was giving Bill Clinton a tour of Novodevichy Cemetery in 1996. She swears it was just an innocent tour and that absolutely nothing else happened.

Elisabeth Kruger
, Resident Coordinator, Irkutsk State University. B.A. Grinnell College, Russian.  Elisabeth spent her first year in Irkutsk researching Siberian folk theatre on a Fulbright grant, and is glad to have stayed on to join Middlebury as Resident Coordinator this year. She is active in theatre and music, and loves to spend time in the great Siberian wilderness.
