Special Collections and Archives offers limited photo duplication services for materials in our collections.

After reviewing our policies below, please send an email to specialcollections@middlebury.edu.

Many items from our collections have already been digitized and various formats are available to download for free from our digital archive or the Internet Archive.  Please check before placing your order. 

All requests are subject to review by our staff. We reserve the right to adjust an order due to preservation concerns or time constraints. At the discretion of Middlebury Special Collections staff, fees may be waived or adjusted. 

We reserve the right to assess a license or use fee when granting permission to publish materials for which the College holds copyright. Visit our Permissions & Copyright page for additional information and guidance.

Our standard scanning resolution is a 4,000 pixels on the long side at 100% (approximately 400-600 dpi based on the size of the original). Customized scanning standards and staff time may incur additional fees.
