If you have lost a book or other library item, you will be charged for the replacement cost.  For a list of replacement costs, please consult the Borrower Loan Periods and Replacement Charges.

The replacement charge will appear on your library record and will block your borrowing privileges.  At the end of each semester, outstanding charges will be transferred to your college bill.

The immediate return of billed items will clear the replacement charge. When returning a billed item, please speak with someone at the circulation desk to make certain that the charges have been cleared from your library account.

Guest borrowers are liable for overdue charges of $ .20 per day.
In addition, a fixed overdue charge of $ 25 will be added to the replacement cost of lost or damaged library materials.

Your library account will not display items that have already been billed to your college account.

You may clear your library account at any time by paying the replacement charge at any of the branch libraries on campus.  We encourage the use of credit card payments.  Please save your receipt!

If you find a library item that you have paid for, you may apply for a credit by contacting Library Circulation.  The receipt is required.  Refunds will not be given if the book has been lost for more than a year.  If the charge was transferred to your college bill, we will verify the payment before issuing credit.  A receipt is not required in this case.

It is the responsibility of the borrower to contact Library Circulation to request credit.  Ideally, the borrower would bring the lost item to the circulation desk, with a receipt, and speak with a supervisor.

Please direct inquiries about replacing or paying for lost library materials to the Circulation Services Manager.

Contact Library Circulation staff at any of the branch libraries with any questions or concerns.
