Gather complete bibliographic information. You will need full titles with no abbreviations, full names of authors, complete volume, number, and pages, and accurate dates.

Verify your citation, i.e., indicate where a reference to the item you want may be located in a catalog, index, bibliography, or database. Give full information for that source, including year, volume, page number, or database accession number. Consult with Reference if you need help.

Make certain that what you need is not in the Middlebury College Library by thoroughly searching MIDCAT and any appropriate full-text sources.
