The loan period is set by the lending institution, not by Middlebury. Loans may not be renewed, so it is important to be prepared to use the material you have requested when it arrives. All ILL books are subject to recall by the lender.
The foundation of good ILL service rests on the goodwill and cooperation of all participants. Middlebury takes very seriously its obligations to other libraries. Library privileges will be suspended until overdue item is returned and any fines have been paid. In addition, you will be responsible for any fines and charges for overdue, lost or damaged materials imposed by the lending institution.
Other restrictions that may apply to use of the material are:
- In Library Use Only. Items will be banded with pink bands.
- Handle with care/No Copying.
- Special Collections Use Only.
