or
Bring items directly to the Circulation Desk at the Library.

Middlebury does not own a copy of what I need. Can I order it?
A:
If items are not listed in Midcat, the Library will attempt to purchase them if titles are in print.   (The Library only purchases textbooks on a case-by-case basis).   To request that the Library order a book, DVD, non-music CD etc, please fill out the Purchase Request Form.  This form may be used by students, faculty and staff members.   It is important to indicate that it is needed for reserve and complete the course information.   You will be notified if the Library is unable to obtain the item.   If you have questions about a purchase, please contact the Library Liaison for your area of interest:  List of Library Subject Area Liaisons
4:
Can I put my own personal copy on reserve?
A:
Personal copies can be place on reserve, but cannot be protected from the wear and tear of heavy reserve use.   Personal copies must be marked and bar-coded for use with our automated circulation system.   The Library cannot assume liability for personal copies which are stolen or mutilated.
5:
How long does it take to process reserve items?
A:
Thousands of items are placed on reserve each term with most items submitted the first week of class.   Reserve requests are processed on a first in, first out basis.   We ask your understanding and cooperation in expediting a complex process and avoiding delays by delivering your materials to the Reserve Department well before the beginning of each semester.
6:
How can I verify that my reserve request has been processed?
A:
To check on line, go to the Library's main page.  Under "Quick Links" click on "Reserves".   Select "Find Printed Reserve Materials".  Select "instructor" under "search for." Type your last name in the box, and click on "search".   This will bring up a list of all items you currently have on reserve.
7:
Whom should I contact with further questions about electronic reserves (ERes)?
A:
Please email the Reserves Department, stop by the Library, or call (802)-443-5495 for assistance.
