Catalog
There are three major indexes to the catalog: name, title, and subject. These indexes can be set to limit a search to materials only in the German language and/or to a specific material type (e.g., books, printed music, recordings, or videos). Do not limit a search by language if it is purely instrumental music. A subject search is used to find music in a particular form, for certain voices and instruments, or about a musician or topic. Here are a few examples:

Searches for the books, printed music, recordings, and videos of works by musicians are performed with the name index and can be limited by medium and language in the same way as the subject search. When entering the name for a search, remember to enter the surname first followed by the first name. Here are some examples:
