International Index to Music Periodicals
Alexandria, Va.: Chadwyck-Healey, 1996-. IIMP draws its current content from more than 300 international music periodicals from over 20 countries, and also indexes feature music articles and obituaries appearing in The New York Times and The Washington Post. IIMP covers nearly all aspects of the world of music, from the most scholarly studies to popular music. Every IIMP record in the current file (1996 forward) contains an abstract. There is selective coverage of music periodicals before 1996.
RILM - Répertoire international de littérature musicale (International Inventory of Music Literature: RILM Abstracts of Music Literature)
New York: International RILM Center, 1967-1993 (in print), 1969- (online). Index Ref ML1.I83 RILM provides citations and abstracts for books and articles about music. The coverage is international and emphasizes scholarly literature. Although there is some overlap with Music Index and the International Index of Music Periodicals, the duplication between them is not great. The sources complement one another. CMPI is an index of articles from Canadian music periodicals. CMPI is a free service provided by the National Library of Canada. Texts of articles are not available from this site, but can be obtained through interlibrary loan at your local library.

The CMPI database includes nearly 30 000 entries on articles dating from the late-19th century to the present day. 500 Canadian music journals, newsletters and magazines are represented here, almost 200 of which are currently active and continue to be indexed
