COMMITTEE ON ART IN PUBLIC PLACES
The display of art in public areas of the College Library (designated by “*”) has been made possible by Middlebury’s Committee on Art in Public Places (CAPP). In 1994 the Trustees of Middlebury College established a “one percent for art” policy, earmarking that fraction of the cost of any renovation or new construction at the College for the purchase, installation, maintenance, and interpretation of works of art on the campus. CAPP was established to oversee the care of art works already on campus, to acquire or commission new works, and to consider offered gifts. CAPP is comprised of faculty, students, administrators and Trustees of Middlebury College. For more information see: www.middlebury.edu/arts/capp
