The Middlebury College Archives is a comprehensive repository of the College’s permanent historical records in formats ranging from manuscript, print, phonograph, audio, video, digital and realia. The records are divided into three categories: A (administration), F (faculty), and S (students). Within these categories there are further delineations which are related to the organizational functions of the college. The records date from 1800 to the present day. A summary of the holdings includes, but is not limited to: Presidential correspondence, major administrative offices’ files, Trustee minutes, alumni files, financial records, records of fundraising and alumni affairs, files on college buildings, the Bread Loaf Writers Conference and the Bread Loaf School of English, College publications, annual reports, serial publications such as New Faces, course catalogues, handbooks and directories.
