The book and journal collection numbers over 3500 volumes and includes imprints from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. Represented are scores, collections, and historical studies of ballads and folk songs in the Anglo-American, Canadian, and European traditions, as well as studies of folklore, history and culture of New England. Commercial Recordings

The commercial recordings in the archive are largely collections of commercially pressed field recordings. Audio and video recordings feature traditional music and dance of the United States and Canada.
