"Your attention please. As a gift to you during exams, LIS staff have made cookies, brownies, and lots of other things, and it's all here in the lobby with some hot coffee. So, come on down and enjoy!" That's what evening supervisor Steve Bertolino says over the loudspeaker, but his guess is not many students hear the whole announcement--they appear in the lobby right after he begins.
The Main Library has hosted Cookie Night since 2003. Staff from across LIS voluntarily bake cookies to alleviate students' stress each semester during exam week. It's an informal, unscheduled, and very popular event. Listen for Steve again next spring!
