Recent updates made to Segue version 2

Over the last few months we have been making many changes to Segue v2 including bug fixes, refinements and new features.  Most recently, we made a update that should greatly improve the speed which Segue v2 loads many sites, as well as your Segue home page.  Below is a list of some of the new features we have implemented in the last couple of months:

Segue v1 Site Importer
Sites created in the current version of Segue can now be imported into Segue v2.  This is a simple and quick way to try out the new version of Segue with some of your existing content.  When you import a site into Segue v2, no changes will be made to the original site.  If you decide you want to use the new version of your site, simply delete the old version in Segue v1 and continue to develop it in Segue v2.  All links to the old site will automatically be forwarded to the new version.

Themes
The appearance of sites, including colors of background, foreground, text and links, as well as borders and images used to layout content can  now all be customized.  Currently we have 3 basic themes, each with options much like was available in Segue v1.  Later we will have Segue v2 equivalents of most Segue v1 as well as many more.

New Site Display Settings
We have added options to display the name(s) of the author and/or editor(s) of site content, as well as the date the content was created and/or modified.  This allows Segue v2 to be used as a blog.  We have also refined the "new mode" user interface so that it is a bit easier to use and better organized.

Tagging
We have added the ability to add "tags" to any given content block and to display all the tags on your site (or a given portion of your site).  Tags (referred to as categories in Segue 1x) provide another way to organize your site content.

RSS and Breadcrumb plugins
RSS feeds and breadcrumbs (the display of links showing where you are on a given site) are now "plugins" which means you can add them anywhere in your site or delete them (if you don't want to display them).  By default, we have added them directly below the site header.

Site Map
All Segue v2 sites now have a site map accessible from the footer of any Segue page.  The site map provides a summary view of a given site and the different levels of navigation can be expanded and collapsed.

Portal Sites Listing
We have tried to streamline the listing of sites in each Segue user's portal so that it is easier to find particular types of sites (class vs personal) and separate out sites you can edit from sites you can simply view.  As well, we have improved the speed of loading this information.  In general, some of you might find that it still takes some time to load this portal page initially, particularly if you have a lot of sites or a lot of classes.  We have added some caching here so that if you return to the portal after having loaded it once, you should find it will display much faster.  Please let us know if this is still unbearable slow.  We expect to have some growing pains in the next few weeks/months as more people start using Segue v2.  We'll try to resolve any slowdowns as quickly as possible.
