Putting books on reserve has just gotten easier. Faculty who would like us to add course readings to our reserves collections (for shorter loan periods and centralized location behind the library Circulation Desk) may make their requests using MIDCAT.
For multiple titles:
Search MIDCAT and click on "Save Records" for books you wish to put on reserve. View and then export the records to your own email account (be sure to use the default "full display"). Forward the exported records to Library Reserve@middlebury.edu with course number and loan period. It is important to export the records to your own email and then forward the message to the library - otherwise, a list is generated with no course or faculty information attached.
For a single title:
Search MIDCAT and click on "Put on reserve (faculty only)" for each book you wish to put on reserve. A form will ask for your name, course number, and the loan period you would like to assign to the book.
There are many other ways to put materials on reserve. Visit FAQs - Placing Materials on Reserve for additional information.
