Want to take a quick break? Secure your laptop first!

Want to take a quick break from your studies? Secure your laptop first! Buy a laptop lock at the College Book Store. Last year, LIS worked with Facilities Services to drill holes in library study carrels so that laptops could be temporarily locked in place. Laptops have been stolen from the library when students left them for just a few minutes to get coffee, search for a book, etc.

And now, if you forget your lock, you may check one out at the Main Library Circulation Desk. The idea of offering loaner laptop locks was shared with us in theLIS Suggestion Box. Have another idea for us? Please send it in!

Secure your laptop, whether it's a loaner laptop or your own, and step away with a sigh of relief. (Don't step away for long, though! Remember that others may need to use the space where you were sitting.)
