Background Information
Library and Information Services (LIS) is a merged organization (2002) that brings together the collective talents of librarians, computing and network services staff, educational technologists, programmers, catalogers and many other staff. In 2005, LIS staff were organized into the five areas described above.
The organization employs a vibrant and innovative staff of nearly 100 FTE who work closely with faculty and staff in the strong tradition of a small liberal arts college and who reach out to support our academic year undergraduates and our summer Language Schools and Bread Loaf students. These professionals are united by the common goal of providing tools and resources to support teaching and learning, improving information access and retrieval.
