Library Locker and Carrel Guidelines
Library materials must be checked out at the Circulation Desks before storing in a locker or carrel.
- Materials must display due date slips.
- Books without due date slips are subject to removal.
- Library-use-only materials may not be stored and are subject to removal.
Lockers and Carrels are subject to regular inspection and removal.
Library Lockers
Keys may be borrowed at the Main Circulation Desk on a first-come, first-served basis for 28 days.
- Extended loan of a locker may be requested at the Circulation Desk.
- Please return all locker keys by the due date but no later than the end of the semester.
- Lockers will be cleared of all contents at the end of every semester.
Library Carrels
Faculty Carrels may be reserved through the Office of the Dean of Faculty.
Academic Year faculty are able to reserve student carrels during the summer on a first-come, first-served basis.
Summer Carrels may be reserved by currently enrolled students on a first-come, first-served basis.
Academic Year Thesis Student Carrels may be reserved by students currently enrolled in a 500, 600 or 700 level thesis/project.
- Eligible students may sign up for an available carrel beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Monday following the first week of classes of any semester on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Sign-up will continue as long as carrels are available.
- Look at the map of carrels in the library.

- Please bring the application to the Circulation Desk in the Main Library in person, along with a Banner Web Class printout to verify thesis status.
Music and Armstrong Library Carrels
A few carrels are also available at the Music and Armstrong Libraries. Please contact the Circulation Desks (Music x5218, Armstrong x5449).
Lost and Found
Personal belongings that have been cleared from carrels, lockers and library public use spaces will be kept in the Lost & Found at the Circulation Desks for the current semester.
