General Procedure

The Edit Window is where you will edit the contents of a page.

  • First navigate to the page you wish to edit, scroll to the footer and log on, then Switch to Edit Mode.
  • From the Edit Console, click on Edit.
  • You are then taken to the Edit Window, where you can make and save your changes to your content.


Default Postings & Rendering Scripts

Many channels are configured with a "rendering script" that controls how channels and pages (postings) are listed when viewed in Live mode. These may have a special "default" posting that includes content for the top-level page in the channel. You may not see an option to Edit this page until you specify it directly:  

  • You may need to Switch to Live Site and make sure that the URL in your address bar ends in default.htm.
  • If it does not, add /default.htm after the name of the current channel in the web address when you go Switch to Edit Site.
For example, if you see this address in "live" mode:

    http://www.middlebury.edu/athletics

Then the default posting address for the athletics channel is:
 
    http://www.middlebury.edu/athletics/default.htm
