Introduction
Depending on which templates you are using, there will be either a 4MB or 5MB size limit on uploading documents to the Resource Manager. If your image is larger than this value, you may be able to optimize it to fit within the limit. Some image formats compress information which takes up significantly less storage space.
In order to optimize your image, you will need to acquire Adobe Photoshop. This software is available for staff use through contacting the LIS Helpdesk. Instructions
- Open Adobe Photoshop.
- Open the image.
- Click the File menu.
- Click Open.
- Locate the image on your hard drive or on a network drive.
- Click once on the image file.
- Click Open.
- Optimize the image.
- Click the File menu.
- Click Save for Web.
- Click Save.
- Save the image.
- Locate a save directory on your hard drive or on a network drive.
- Click Save.
- Close Adobe Photoshop.
- Click the File menu.
- Click Exit.
Your image will now most likely be small enough to fit on the CMS. Try to upload it again using the steps found in the Add New or Replace sections of this documentation.
