Introduction
Used to check the spelling of words in a posting. If you press this button with no text selected, it will check the spelling for the entire posting. If you press this button with text highlighted, only the highlighted selection will be checked for spelling errors. When the button is pressed, the following dialog is displayed:
Not in Dictionary
When the spell checker finds a word that is not in its dictionary file, it will be shown in the Not in Dictionary window. The text will be shown as black and bold with a dashed red underline, as the word "pulldown" is in the above diagram.
Suggestions
Words similar to the one Not in Dictionary are shown in the Suggestions list. The current suggestion is highlighted. You can change the current suggestion by clicking on another item in the list. To change the word Not in Dictionary to one of the words in the Suggestions list, double click on the suggestion or click once on the suggestion and then click the Change button to the right. If you want to change all instances of the word Not in Dictionary to the current selection in Suggestion, click the suggestion once and then click the Change All button to the right.
Ignore
Pressing the Ignore button on the right will skip this one instance of the word Not in Dictionary in the selection of text being checked for spelling.
Ignore All
Pressing the Ignore All button on the right will skip all instances of the word Not in Dictionary in the selection of text being checked for spelling.
Add Custom
The Add Custom button is used to add words to the custom dictionary. This feature is disabled to prevent users from adding misspelled words to the custom dictionary and for security reasons. If you have a prominently used word that should be added to the custom dictionary (we added the word "Middlebury", for example), contact Web Services.
Change
Pressing the Change button on the right will change the current word Not in Dictionary to the currently selected word in the Suggestions list for that one occurance in the content.
Change All
Pressing the Change All button on the right will change the current word Not in Dictionary to the currently selected word in the Suggestions list for all occurances in the content.
Undo
Pressing the Undo button under the Suggestions list will revert the last Change, Change All, Ignore, or Ignore All action and move the Not in Dictionary window back to the word on which that action was taken. Pressing the Undo button multiple times will revert multiple actions.
Close
Pressing the Close button will close the Spelling dialog.
