Pressing this button will insert a new paragraph at the current location of the cursor. Any content of the current paragraph located past that cursor position will be transferred to the new paragraph. If the cursor was at the end of a paragraph, but there is another paragraph after the current paragraph, pressing the New Paragraph button will appear to move the cursor to the start of the next paragraph. However, it has actually inserted a new paragraph and typing will move the text selection appropriately.
Styles,
text formatting and alignment from the previous paragraph will carry through to the New Paragraph, but can be reset using the formatting tools described above.
