Applying for a Job [Students]
Once a supervisor requests a Job Posting, it is placed in a queue of Pending Job Postings. These postings must be approved before they are posted to the live site.
- Open Internet Explorer
- Go to the Job Postings channel
- Click on the name of a job that interests you
- If the Apply for Position button appears, click it to apply, otherwise contact the listed supervisor to apply for the position
- Enter your username and password and click Logon
- An email has been sent to the supervisor for this position informing them of your interest. You should no longer see the Apply for Positionbutton in the center column
Creating a SEO Job Description [SEO Administration]
Step 1: Navigating to the Location of the Posting
- Open Internet Explorer
- Go to the Job Descriptions channel
- Click on the level of this Job Description in the right navigation column
- Click on the department of this Job Description in the right navigation column
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Log On
- Enter your username and password and click Logon
Step 2: Adding a Job Description Posting
- If you are viewing a specially formatted list of SEO Job Descriptions, click Create New Page in the Edit Console and go to step 6.
- Click Create New Page (Choose Template) in the Edit Console
- Expand 0506 Templates
- Click SEO Job Description
- Click the Select icon to the right of SEO Job Description
- Click the Academic Yearcheckbox if you want students to be able to apply for this position during the Academic Year
- Click the Summer checkbox if you want students to be able to apply for this position during the Summer
- Enter the username of the Supervisor in the Supervisor text box. The Supervisor is the person who will receive applications for this job and manage the student once hired. A person's usernameis the first part of their email address. For example, if John Smith's email was jsmith@middlebury.edu his username would be jsmith
- Enter any Specific Responsibilities for this position or details about this job in the Specific Responsibilities Edit Window
- Click the Disable checkbox if you do not want students to apply for this position online. Instead, students will see a message asking them to contact the person listed as the Supervisor
- Enter a name for this posting in the Nametext box. The name of the posting should be the Control Number of the Job Description
- Enter a display name for this posting in the Display Nametext box. The Display Nameof the posting should be the job title
- Click OK
- Click Approve in the Edit Console
Step 3: Finishing
- Click Log Off in the Edit Console
- Close Internet Explorer
Creating a Job Posting [Job Supervisors]
Step 1: Navigating to the Location of the Posting
- Open Internet Explorer
- Go to the Job Descriptions channel
- Click on the level of this Job Description in the right navigation column
- Click on the department of this Job Description in the right navigation column
- Click on the name of the job for which you would like to create a new Job Posting in the center column
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Log On
- Enter your username and password and click Logon
Step 2: Creating the Job Posting
- If this position is available during both the Academic Year and the Summer, select the time of year for which you are currently creating a Job Posting from the drop down menu located after the Job Description text
- Click the Create Job Postingbutton
- An email has just been sent to the address of the Supervisorand to SEO Administration letting them know that a new Job Postinghas been requested
- You have been redirected to the channel of the department containing the description of the job for which you requested a posting
Step 3: Finishing
- Click Log Off in the Edit Console
- Close Internet Explorer
Approving a Job Posting [SEO Administration]

Step 1: Navigating to the Location of the Posting
- Open Internet Explorer
- Go to the Job Postings channel
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Log On
- Enter your username and password and click Logon
- Click on Pending Job Postings in the center column
Step 2: Creating the Job Posting
- Click the Approvebutton in the center column to approve and post the Job Posting
- An email has just been sent to the supervisor informing them that their Job Postinghas been approved
Step 3: Finishing
- Click Log Off in the Edit Console
- Close Internet Explorer
Removing a Job Posting [SEO Administration]
Step 1: Navigating to the Location of the Posting
- Open Internet Explorer
- Go to the Job Postings channel
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Log On
- Enter your username and password and click Logon
- Click on the name of the Job Postingin the center column that you wish to remove
Step 2: Removing the Job Posting
- Click the Remove Job Opening button in the center column to remove this Job Posting from the list of Job Postings
Step 3: Finishing
- Click Log Off in the Edit Console
- Close Internet Explorer
