Coach Profiles
Creating a Profile posting for a Coach
Step 1: Navigating to the Staff Coaches List
Open
Internet Explorer
Navigate to
http://www.middlebury.edu/athletics
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click
Log On
Enter your username and password and click Logon
Click
Athletics Staff
in the left navigation column
Click
Coaches
in the center column
If the
Coach
already appears in this list, go to Step 4, otherwise proceed to the next step
Step 2: Uploading Photos for a Coach's Profile [If Necessary]
Click
Switch to Edit Site
in the
Edit Console
Click
Resource Manager
in the
Edit Console
Click
Staff
Click the
Add New...
button in the
Resource Manager
window
Click the
Browse...
button in the
Add Resource
window
Navigate to the location of the photo on the hard drive and click on the file
Click
Open
Enter the name of the
Coach
in the
Description
text box
Click
OK
Close the
Resource Manager
window
Step 3: Adding a Coach Profile Posting
Click
Create New Page (Choose Template)
in the
Edit Console
Expand
0506 Templates
Click
Athletics
Click the
Select
icon to the right of
Profile
Enter the
Coach's
username, which is the first part of their email address - the part before the @ symbol, in the
Username
text box
If you want to display the
Coach's
name differently than it is entered in the directory, enter an alternate name in the
Alt Name
text box
If you want to display the
Coach's
job title differently than it is entered in the directory, enter an alternate job title in the
Alt Title
text box
If you want to display the
Coach's
alma mater, enter that information in the
Alma Mater
text box
If you want to display the number of year the
Coach
has been with Middlebury College, enter than number in the
Years @ Midd
text box. Note that this number will not automatically increment each year, so if you use this field, you will have to edit the posting once a year to change the value.
If there is biographical or interview information about the Coach, enter that in the
Edit Window
.
If there is a photo for this
Coach
Click the
Image Settings
link directly above the
Edit Window
Click
Insert Shared Image
Click
Staff
in the
Resource Manager
window
Locate the photo in the list of resources
Click the
Select
icon to the right of the photo
If the
Alternate Text
field is blank, enter the
Coach's
full name in the
Alternate Text
text box
Click
Insert
Click
Save New Page
in the
Edit Console
Enter a name for the posting in the
Name
text box. The name of the posting should be the username of the
Coach
.
Enter a display name for the posting in the
Display Name
text box. The display name of the posting should be the printed name of the
Coach
.
Click
OK
Click
Approve
in the
Edit Console
Step 4: Creating Connected Coach's Profile Postings
Click
Create Connected Page
in the
Edit Console
Expand
Middlebury College
Expand
Athletics
Expand
Varsity Sports
Expand the gender of sport for this
Coach
Expand the sport for this
Coach
Click
Coach
Click the
Select
icon to the right of
Profile
Click
Save New Page
in the
Edit Console
Click
OK
Click
Approve
in the
Edit Console
Repeat this step for each sport this person coaches.
Step 5: Finishing
Click
Log Off
in the
Edit Console
Close
