1:
What is the MiddCMS framework?
A:
MiddCMS is the name of the new CMS framework that the College's web site is built upon. This framework supports the underlying functionality of the College's CMS-based web sites.  Examples of sub-sites that have already migrated to MiddCMS include Athletics, Admissions, Human Resources and Student Employment. As you can see, they look the same as other sub-sites on www, because the global visual design of the web site is not changing this Summer.
2:
Will sub-sites look different in MiddCMS?
A:
This migration is not a global visual web re-design.

Generally, content, images and page templates will look almost exactly the same as they do now.

3:
Will editing sub-sites be different in MiddCMS?
A:
The most noticable differences to Content Providers in MiddCMS are:

1. A "Content Cleaner" has been implemented to automatically remove formatting attributes that are not part of the College's approved global style guide. Content is cleaned when a posting is saved, but before being published, so that corrections can be made.

2. Because of the Content Cleaner, you no longer need to use Notepad as an intermediate step towards pasting content into the CMS!

4:
What do Content Providers need to do?
A:
Not much! The migration is mainly a "behind the scenes" effort, however you may want to consider attending one of the Helpdesk's "What's New with the CMS" workshops to learn about the new features that are available to you as a Content Provider of a http://www.middlebury.edu sub-site.
