If you have read through the rest of this guide and are still stumped, this Troubleshooting guide may provide the answer.

When I try to insert an item into a posting from the Resource Gallery, I get an error message that says:

"There was an error loading the Resource Gallery. Please try again."

Close the error message window and TRY AGAIN, if it still doesn't work after 5-10 tries, check your IE settings and REBOOT.

When I create a channel, and click it to create a page, I get a weird "welcome" page and I can't see how to create a new page.

Press the Back button on your browser, then click the "Switch to Live Site" in the Edit Console.  Once loaded, click "Switch to Edit Site" to get back to the edit site, then click the channel name again.  This time you should see a generic-looking Edit Console on the right, containing a link to Create a New Page.  When you have selected the template of the page you wish to create, most likely Text & Pictures (default), you will find yourself back in familiar territory.

Why can't I see my changes on the Live site?

Did you approve them, or submit them for approval by a CP Editor?  If you submitted them for approval, you may want to contact the CP Editor to get a status update.

When I change a link to an external site, for some reason when I save and approve the link isn't there!

Delete the link text and type new text, selecting it then using the Hyperlink tool.

I see the page I want to Edit, and I am in Edit Site but there is no Edit option in my Edit Console!

You are probably looking at the channel, rather than the default posting of that channel. Click on the page in the left nav, your Edit option should appear.

I click "Edit" in the Edit Console and it takes me to a page, but I can't use anything!

  1. Does your computer meet the minimum requirements for editing content in the CMS?
  2. Did you click Yes in the dialog box the first time you tried to edit a page?

The new content management system does require a downloadable plug-in. You may need to Log out and then Log on again, and click "edit page;" you should be prompted to install the CMS plug-in, click Yes.

I recieve a Red Error Message like "Save Placeholder Failed..." when trying to save my page, what's wrong?

You are trying to save a page that refers to an image that has been removed from the Resouce Gallery, or you do not have Resource Gallery permissions for the Channel.  Please check to make sure all of your image references are pointing to actual images in the Gallery.  If that is the case, then please contact the Administrator for your Channel, or Web Services to gain permissions.
