Finding Books


Finding Scholarly Journal Articles  
Locating Books, Journals and Newspapers Online or in the Library
  • If you've found an article that's not available full-text in the electronic database you're using: Search Print & E-Journals A-Z List .
  • If you've found a record for a book, journal, or newspaper in MIDCAT & want to locate it:
    • Look at the column labeled "Location."  The Armstrong (Science) Library is in McCardell-Bicentennial Hall.  The Main Library is on Storrs Avenue. The Music Library  is in the Center for the Arts.
    • Look at the column labeled "Call number."
    • Check the status: "Available" or not?
    • Once you're in the library, find out where the call number is located. Ask for assistance at any desk.
