Statistical tables on a wide variety of U.S. and some international subjects.  Useful for identifying other sources for more detailed data. Latest print edition in Reference HA202 U5. Earlier editions also online or in GovDocs C3.134.  1878 - present.
Historical Statistics of the U.S.
Millennial Edition - updated and expanded online version with data updated to the 1990's+ (additional 30 years worth and triple the number of data series than its predecessor).
LexisNexis Statistical Universe
Statistical Universe locates statistics by subject. PowerTables include full-text. Search Abstracts allows users to search summaries of statistical publications, then link to the full-text of selected publications on Statistical Universe and government Web sites. Links provides annotated links to other Web sites with statistics.
Bloomberg (on dedicated library computer)
The Bloomberg service is now offered on a dedicated terminal behind the Reference Desk of the Main Library.  It offers financial information on companies, delayed stock quotes, analysis of U.S. and international securities, economic indicators, international news, and more.  It is restricted to users affiliated with the College.  Ask at the Reference Desk for the login instructions and passwords.
Value Line Investment Surveys
Online access to Value Line's company stock reports, ratings, and industry surveys. Includes their weekly Selection and Opinion market update with the latest economic figures.  Choose stocks by various criteria using the stock screener.  Click on LOGOFF when done (limited to 3 simultaneous users). Geolytics CensusDVD Research Package

Historical Census Browser, 1790 - 1960 (U of Virginia)
Provides U.S. Census summary level population and economic data at the state and county level from 1790 to 1960. Created by University of Virginia's Geostat Center using ICPSR data.
County & City Data Books (U of Virginia)
Electronic access back to 1944 from Univ. of Virginia's Geostat Center.  Also available in print, and cd-rom in the library; and online (recent issues) through the U.S. Census Bureau.  See Midcat for details.
Social Explorer
Provides interactive U.S. census demographic data maps, 1940 - 2000.  See data at the national level or zoom in as far down as the census tract level. View data on maps or create customized reports.
IPUMS (Integrated Public Use Microdata Series)
Census microdata from the Minnesota Population Center at the University of Minnesota. Provides access to several databases: IPUMS-USA (1850-latest); IPUMS-International; IPUMS - Current Pop. Survey.
Stat-USA (password needed)
Economic, business, and international trade information from U.S. government agencies. Use is restricted to the Main Library. Come to the reference desk to have a librarian log you in.
Economic Indicators.gov
Provides the latest economic indicators from the U.S. Census and BEA (Bureau of Economic Analysis) websites and links to their release calendars.  See also the White House Economic Statistics Briefing Room.
ICPSR
The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) provides access to a large archive of social science data files for use with statistical software, such as SAS or SPSS.  Includes some public opinion polls.
ICPSR's Bibliography of Data-Related Literature
Contains citations of publications that either uses data in the ICPSR holdings; or use ICPSR data in a comparison with the primary dataset investigated; or the publication is "about" an ICPSR dataset or study series.
EDGAR Database - SEC
Company filings and reports filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
FRED (Federal Reserve Economic Data)
A database of over 3000 U.S. economic time series downloadable in Excel or text  files or viewable in chart format.
FRASER (Federal Reserve Archival System for Economic Research)
Contains links to scanned images (PDF's) of historical economic statistical publications, releases, and documents.
Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA)
Interactive tables of data on U.S., State, and local personal income; U.S. and State GDP; GDP by Industry; Corporate Profits; International Economic Accounts (Balance of Payments, Trade in Goods & Services).  Also included are BEA's Regional Factsheets (BEARFACTS). Includes data formerly know as REIS (Regional Economic Information System).

"Comprehensive site of free, easily available economic time series data useful for economic research, in particular economic forecasting...The majority of the data is USA data.
