There are many web sites that aggregate links to web-based resources. Here are some general and specialized internet gateways and search engines.
Internet Gateways
The Physics page of the The WWW Virtual Library is a good starting point.
You can also find excellent gateway sites hosted by colleges and universities, such as the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics Resources for Scientists page and Cambridge University's AstroWeb. Professional societies, such as the American Astronomical Society and the American Institute of Physics offer information and links as well.
More specialized sites can provide focused searching. An example is Atomic Physics on the Internet .
There are valuable gateway sites that have developed outside the scholarly community, such as PhysicsWeb, Galaxy's Physics and their Astronomy pages.
