Rehab El Deeb is an instructor of Arabic at the American University in Cairo where she also is pursuing her M.A. in teaching Arabic as a foreign language (TAFL). In fall 2006 she was awarded the Merit Fellowship for her outstanding work and effort in this field. In 1994 she earned her B.A. at Helwan University in Cairo. She has taught various courses at the American University in Cairo focusing on vocabulary, printed media, and grammar in Modern Standard Arabic and Egyptian colloquial Arabic. She also taught a course on colloquial Egyptian Arabic for German teachers at the German School in Dokki, Cairo.
