Luca Barattoni

Laurea in Lingue e Letterature Straniere Moderne in Slavics, University of Bologna; MA and PhD in Italian Literature - expected in 2006 with a dissertation regarding the rewriting of the Italian cinematic canon - at UNC-CH, Dept. of Romance Languages. His main interests are: modern and contemporary Italian novel; history of film; semiotics, psychoanalysis and literary theory; Russian-Jewish literature (he translated from Russian into Italian the seminal novel “Confession of a Jew” by Aleksandr Melichov). Currently an Assistant professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he teaches and coordinates different levels of Italian language.
