Donato Santeramo

earned his "laurea" in Lettere e filosofia from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" and received his Ph. D. in Italian Studies from the University of Toronto. He now teaches at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario in the Department of Spanish and Italian and teaches "The Semiotics of Visual Art" at Victoria University in The University of Toronto. His research has been primarly in the areas of XX century Italian theatre, literary studies and semiotics. His publications include Deictic Verbal Constuctions (with Marcel Danesi); "Pirandello e Craig la crisi della rappresentazione"; " Enrico IV the Perfect Theatrical Machine"; "Il bell'Antonio ovvero La fine della Storia" "Dario Fo 1997 Nobel Prize in Literature" and "La Sagra del Signore della Nave tra simbolismo e allegoria". He has edited The Sign in Theory and Practice (with Marcel Danesi). Forthcoming is a monograph on Pirandello. He has translated and published several plays from Italian and has staged them in Kingston, Toronto and New York. Favourite link:
