Raffaella Santucci, PhD in Digital Technologies Applied to the Performing Arts at the University of Rome "La Sapienza", Raffaella has won PhD scholarships at both Brown University and La Sapienza. Raffaella has always pursued an approach to theatre that balances theory with practice. Her research interests hinge on Dario Fo and the techniques of training of the actor. She has studied directing and acting under the guidance of Dario Fo, Yoshi Oida, Jean-Paul Denizon, Bruce Myers, Lilo Baur, and also at Pontedera Teatro. She worked as assistant director in many productions and, in 2007, she shared the directing credit for Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream with Bruce Myers from Peter Brook's CIRT and with Luca Giberti. In the last few years her work was focused on the exploration of the potential of new media technologies for the enhancement of education and research in the arts and humanities within the broader context of academic research and educational practice. Raffaella is currently responsible for coordinating international projects related to the application of ICT to education at Sapienza, University of Rome, on behalf of Faculty of Humanities. She also holds a course at the Language School of Middlebury College, Vermont.
