On Sunday, June 19, we played our first volleyball game of the season against the Russian School. We finally had a break in the weather, and ended up with a perfect day for playing. Although we didn't win, we had a lot of fun, proudly wearing our yellow t-shirts and carrying our "flag tree" which contains flags from the various countries which have Portuguese as their official language.
Our other main sport here is soccer, which we play against other schools on Wednesday afternoons. We played our first game of the season on July 6 against the Japanese School.
Final score: Japanese - 3, Portuguese - 9!!
This is the first soccer game the Portuguese School has won in its three-year history, and the second sporting event overall (we won a volleyball game last year against the Chinese School).
